La lista de las 100 mejores canciones de rock fue hecha por la revista Rolling Stone. Se trata de una celebración de los mejores temas del rock & roll de todos los tiempos, elegidos por un selecto jurado de cantantes, músicos, productores, personalidades de la industria, críticos y, por supuesto, compositores. Unos 172 votantes eligieron sus 50 temas favoritos por orden de preferencia.

Entre los jurados se encontraban James Hetfield (Metallica), Adam Levine (Maroon 5), Lil Wayne, Chris Martin (Coldplay), Ozzy Osbourne, Joe Perry (Aerosmith) y Slash, por mencionar algunos.
